Philly History

The Philadelphia Flyer was founded in 1992 and was originally in Queen Street, Wolverhampton, with the aim of recreating a genuine New York sandwich bar. It was part funded by a loan from the Princes Youth Business Trust.

Dave the owner had done extensive research of all the finest eateries in the Metropolis and decided to base the philly flyer on his favourite sandwich bar (opposite the city library if your interested). The Philly Flyer was soon serving Wolves with such delicacies as Cream Cheese & 'Lox Bagels.

As you can see from the picture, HRH seemed pleased with the result, as did the public. The Philly Flyer can bring that authentic New York frame of mind to your party, function or any other event that needs buffet catering with a difference. After 12 years succesfully feeding people in Queen Street, our reputation grew beyond the confines of the original shop. The Philadelphia Flyer needed to expand and moved to new premises in Victoria Street - one thousand sq ft of chic eatery! The menu has now expanded to include our very own creation THE TRINITY. This has taken Wolverhampton by storm and is exclusive to us. The kitchens are now large enough for us to cope with buffets from 8-200 people for weddings, business functions and parties.
